QGIS and InaSAFE Training for Establishing Disaster Risk Assessment

  For the fourth time since 2013, a Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR/PRB) month was organized by Indonesia’s National Agency for Disaster Management (BNPB). The event this year was hosted in the city of Manado, running for three days from Wednesday to Friday, October 12-14, 2016. The Governor of North Sulawesi, Olly Dondokambey, S.E., and the Head of BNPB, Willem Rampangilei, officially opened the exhibition with hundreds of representatives from BNPB, BPBD, related government agencies in disaster management, private sector and non-governmental organizations attending the event.  The event attracted the crowd both from Manado and some adjacent areas. OSM, QGIS and InaSAFE for Tsunami Contingency Plan in Ambon City

This training was a series of preparation of Contingency Plans Tsunami activities in Ambon City. This training was a collaboration between the City Local Disaster Managemen Agency (BPBD) of Maluku Province, BPBD of Ambon City, BPBD of Central Maluku District, Mercy Corps, Disaster Management Innovation (DMI) and Humanitarian OpenStreetMap Team (HOT) Indonesia. InaSAFE for Contingency Planning

After teaching InaSAFE for  Risk Assesment to National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) in last December 2015,  Disaster Management Innovation (DMI) helped by Humanitarian OpenStreetMap Team (HOT) Indonesia come back to help BNPB to teach InaSAFE for some of BNPB staff. Now, InaSAFE will be delivered to participants in context of to help them for making Contingency Planning. This training will be tauhgt to BNPB staff  in Deputy 1 who come from  3 directorates. OSM QGIS and InaSAFE Training in InaDRTG

In 16-18 December 2015, HOT and DMI (Disaster Management Innovation) held training in InaDRTG. This training was held by Deputy of Prevention and Preparedness division of Community Empowerment with help from DMI and HOT. Last week, on 16 to 18 October 2015, the Humanitarian OpenStreetMap Team Indonesia jointly with Disaster Management Innovation (DMI) had the opportunity to participate in the commemoration of Disaster Risk Reduction Month which was held in Fort Vastenberg, Solo, Central Java. Commemoration of Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) Month was held by BNPB (National Disaster Management Agency).
