InaSAFE for Contingency Planning

After teaching InaSAFE for  Risk Assesment to National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) in last December 2015,  Disaster Management Innovation (DMI) helped by Humanitarian OpenStreetMap Team (HOT) Indonesia come back to help BNPB to teach InaSAFE for some of BNPB staff. Last week, on 16 to 18 October 2015, the Humanitarian OpenStreetMap Team Indonesia jointly with Disaster Management Innovation (DMI) had the opportunity to participate in the commemoration of Disaster Risk Reduction Month which was held in Fort Vastenberg, Solo, Central Java. Commemoration of Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) Month was held by BNPB (National Disaster Management Agency). Workshop I Disaster Risk Assessment in South Sulawesi

South Sulawesi province has 46.717,48 km2 area with population 8,2 million in 2012, and population density 175,84 people/km2 that spread in 24 Regency/City (www.sulselprov.go.id). Based on data from BNPB 2012, some regency in South Sulawesi have hazard potential. Risk Assessment workshop in South Sulawesi has been compiled by BNPB on 2011. However based suggestion from other institutes in South Sulawesi, risk assessment document need reviewed and developed suitable with hazard condition in South Sulawesi. National Seminar and the Launch of Demographic Information and it Utilization for Disaster Management

Representatives from Humanitarian OpenStreetMap Team (HOT) Indonesia recently got an invitation to attend the Launching of Demographic Data and Information on Disaster Management in Indonesia. This event is result of cooperation between National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB), Statistics Indonesia (BPS), and supported by United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) and United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (UN OCHA).
